Diaper Inserts are the absorbent layer of pocket cloth diapers. They are sometimes called Soakers and there are several different kinds to choose from. Doublers are usually smaller and used when a bit more absorbency is needed but you don't want a lot of bulk. Inserts are generally used as the absorbent layer for pocket diapers and all-in-two diapers. They can also be laid in any cloth diaper when extra absorbency is needed, such as nap time and nighttime.
Cloth Diaper Inserts can be made from organic cotton, hemp, bamboo, microfiber, microfleece, or a combination of any of these. Hemp is naturally anti-microbial and extremely absorbent. Microfiber wicks moisture away from your baby's bottom and leaves the skin feeling dry. Soakers or Inserts are either rectangular shaped or hourglass-shaped and consist of several layers of an absorbent fabric. They are kept in the diaper pail and laundered with the cloth diapers. |
